♫ Rocket into the Night, Rocket into the Night ♫

SpaceX rocket launch over a west central Florida lake on January 6th, 2020. This is a capture of the first SpaceX launch of 2020 on January 6th. The conditions were absolutely perfect with a 9PM evening launch time and perfectly clear Florida winter skies that allowed this launch to be captured from just shy of 125 miles away. SpaceX sent up another batch of sixty satellites with the launch that will be used for their satellite internet service. SpaceX will be launching and orbiting over 12,000 (or possibly more) of the Starlink satellites in total by the mid 2020's. I'm hoping to capture as many of the rocket launches off…

Lightning Win!

Downtown Tampa Saturday, December 7th, 2019 Foul creatures were lurking in the shallow waters of Tampa Bay on the evening of Saturday, December 7th. They had journeyed from the far away depths of the Pacific Ocean. Indeed, Sharks from San Jose had come to the Tampa area to circle the waters sailed by Jose Gaspar. No one warned the poor fish brained creatures that Tampa Bay is famous for its Lightning. The Sharks of San Jose swam too close to the water's surface and found themselves getting zapped repeatedly by the dangerous Lightning, losing 7 to 1 to the Bolts. Before the game I rented a scooter and traversed the…

Dave “The Captain” Andreychuk

Dave Andreychuk Statue at the Entrance of Amalie Arena Saturday, November 16th, 2019 Welp, the Bolts lost on yet another Saturday evening in Tampa Bay. Someday I'll be able to capture a photo after a win. If superstitions don't exist, then I think my camera's presence at Bolts' games may make the team nervous. Some people are just camera shy I suppose. Anyways, nobody notified MacDill AFB in time and the Canadian air force was able to launch a spectacularly successful air attack campaign on the state of Florida. Jets flying all the way from Winnipeg blitz southern Florida wiping out an entire endangered species of panther native to that…

She Married a Bird Brain

A Pair of Florida Sandhill Cranes, Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 Sandhill Cranes are somewhat of rare sighting in Florida. The specie's population is not currently listed on the Endangered Species List, however these birds are protected by the U.S. Migratory Bird Treaty Act and in the state of Florida the Sandhill Crane population is considered threatened. It's an absolutely wonderful bird that is said to bring good fortune to couples that spot them; especially when a bride and groom are visited by a pair of Sandhill Cranes on their wedding day. This is because the Sandhill Crane is a monogamous partner. Once they find a mate, they never leave that…

Hope Over the Lake

A Stroll Down the Dock Leads to a Hopeful Sign, Sunday, October 28th, 2019 In central Florida, our afternoon rains often lead to numerous rainbow sightings. This one here snuck up on me and I had to get back to the truck to fetch the camera. While a part of the bow was still rather vibrant, due to the quickly setting angle of the sun and dissipating rain drops I didn't quite catch the bow in her full glory, but was still not displeased with the result here. Sorta fitting I think... Nobowdy's perfect! Fuji X-T3, Samyang 12mm, 1/1500", F2.8, ISO 160

A Quiet Respite from Defeat

Tampa, FL Skyline From Atop the Pam Iorio Garage, Saturday, October 19th, 2019 The Tampa skyline was quite dramatic with fast moving clouds spawned by Tropical Storm Nestor that was making landfall in the Florida panhandle. Meanwhile in Tampa Bay there was a hockey game to be played. As I arrived to the game I was hoping that the storm was a good omen for the Tampa Bay Lightning who were taking on the Colorado Avalanche the evening of this snap. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, as this photo was taken from atop the parking garage shortly after a mound of unforgiving Colorado snow took to the ice of Amalie…

Genesis 9

Rainbow Over a Central Florida Lake, Wednesday, July 7th, 2019 9 “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” 12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set…
